  1. Purpose and Goals: Stress Management: The primary purpose of the group is to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals to learn effective strategies for managing stress. Self-Care: The group also aims to promote self-care practices that enhance physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
  2. Group Composition: Participants: The group may consist of individuals from various backgrounds and age groups who are experiencing stress in different aspects of their lives. Facilitator: Amy Lawing, Clinical Therapist Intern will be leading the group. She will be providing  guidance, structure, and expertise in stress management and self-care techniques.
  3. Meeting Frequency and Duration: The group meets virtually on Wednesday from 6pm-7pm CST for 6 weeks.
  4. Group Activities and Topics: Discussion: Participants share their experiences and stressors, fostering a sense of community and empathy. Skill Building: Group members will learn and practice stress reduction techniques through exercises, role-playing, or guided activities. Homework Assignments: Participants may be encouraged to practice self-care activities and report back on their experiences in subsequent sessions.
  5. Confidentiality: Confidentiality is crucial in these groups to create a safe space for participants to open up about their stressors and self-care challenges. We ask that you respect all participants privacy and limit sharing information about others while in the group. Remember this is a safe space.
  6. Support and Encouragement: Group members provide emotional support and encouragement to one another. Why? This sense of solidarity can be empowering and reduce feelings of isolation.
  7. Evaluation and Progress Tracking: The group may periodically assess participants' stress levels and the effectiveness of their self-care practices. This assessment helps tailor the support and techniques to individual needs.
  8. Benefits: Enhanced stress coping skills. Improved self-awareness and self-care habits. Reduced feelings of isolation and loneliness. A supportive community of peers. Increased overall well-being and resilience.
